Are you a quilter who does foundation paper piecing? If so, You probably already own an Add a Quarter Ruler by CM Designs. If not, you might want to give this quilting technique a try!
Foundation paper piecing is a technique that allows the quilter to create complicated quilt blocks with very crisp lines and precise angles by sewing the fabric onto a paper pattern. The paper is torn away after the block is assembled. During construction, excess fabric must be trimmed away–without damaging the paper pattern. This is where the Add a Quarter Ruler for quilting becomes invaluable.
The CM Designs Add a Quarter Ruler has a groove on the bottom side that leaves a perfect ¼” seam allowance after you fold the pattern paper and fabric out of the way. You can run your rotary cutter along the CM Designs ruler without fear of slicing into your pattern or quilt block. Quilter Becky Goldsmith gives an excellent, short demonstration of the ruler in this VIDEO
