Join Maureen Wood, Certified Instructor Quiltworx to make this stunning quilt in any colour way of your choice. The Butterfly Garden quilt was designed by Judy and Brad Niemeyer as part of the Sunrise Mixer series, and includes three distinct groupings to create an 80 inch by 80 inch quilt. The pattern teaches many of Judy's latest techniques for paper piecing and is fully compatible with Quiltster, meaning that you can find the layout in Quiltster and work with the program to develop your own colourway if you like. The pattern also includes a line drawing of the pattern for you to use to play with colours if you prefer that method instead of subscribing to Quiltster. There is significant pre-class preparation required for this class and the pattern can be confusing for persons not familiar with Judy's pattern and cutting layouts so the class is not recommended for beginners to foundation paper piecing. We hope that you can join us in 2020 to work on this beautiful quilt - Friday/Saturday/Sunday, January 31, February 1& 2 2020

Join Maureen Wood, Authorized Teacher, BeColourful for a three day class to work on the stunning Walk in the Woods pattern by Jacqueline de Jonge. This pattern would sew up wonderfully in any colour way you choose to use. The pattern uses 15 different fabrics including three of Jacqueline's signature stripped fabrics which are now available in 9 colours with 3 more colours to be released this fall. The pattern contains all of the foundation papers, templates and instructions to complete one 75 inch by 75 inch quilt. In the class you will learn Jacqueline's techniques for foundation paper piecing, sewing gentle curves and the use of second seam allowances. In the class we hope to get at least one row of the quilt completed. This class is suitable for any level of quilter. Pre class preparation required, along with the BeColourful pattern Walk in the Woods. Friday/Saturday/Sunday November 1, 2, 3, 2019

The Watermelon Placemats class is a great class for beginners to foundation paper piecing but is also a fun class for more advanced quilters. The Watermelon Placemats pattern contains the foundation papers, templates and instructions to complete six (6) 18 inch by 13 inch placemats, or make four (4) placemats and turn the other two into a table runner. In this class you will learn Judy Niemeyers's techniques for cutting fabrics, foundation paper piecing, sewing gentle curves using a bias strip, and also her technique for turn under applique. You should be able to complete one placemat in the class time. Pre-class preparation is required and you will need the Quiltworx Watermelon Placemats pattern. Hope to see you there! Saturday, September 14

Have you always wanted to make a quilt but didn't know where to start? Learn some basic (machine) piecing techniques that will enable you to identify and make dozens of different quilt squares. Rotary cutting and quick strip piecing techniques for at least 12 different 12" squares will be taught, as well as how to assemble the quilt top, how to layer it, quilt it and bind it. Can you sew a 1/4 " seam? (Even if you can't you'll learn that too!). The first class will cover supplies & equipment needed, amount of fabric to buy, colour selection and fabric preparation.
