As a U.S. Customer you may order up to $200.00 U.S. per day duty free. $200.00 U.S. (at the time of print) equals approximately $270.00 Canadian. Keep in mind that the exchange rate fluctuates on a regular basis, if you would like to check out the exact amount of the day go to: www.xe.com and put in the Canadian Dollar amount and convert it to the U.S. dollar. You must also bare in mind that the Credit Card Company rate may be slightly different but this will give you a good idea of what you will be paying. Hamels Fabrics uses the Canadian and U.S. Postal system to safely send all your orders to you.

As we are a Canadian based Quilt Shop we sell to you in meters (or portions of) and not yards. The meter is actually 10% greater than the yard. The yard is 36" where the meter is just over 39". So bear this in mind also when looking at the price. If you are paying $13.50 Canadian per meter you would multiply this by .70. This would equal $9.45 U.S. per meter. Now to convert the meter to the yard you would simply take this figure and divide it by 1.1. This would give you $8.59 U.S. per yard.

$13.50 Can per meter times .70 = $9.45 U.S. per meter.
$9.45 U.S. per meter divided by 1.1 = $8.59 U.S. per yard.

Hamels Fabrics always features wonderful first grade cottons on sale on their website. The average price of these sale items is $8.98 per meter. If you do the above conversion on $8.98 per meter Canadian it would work out that you were paying approximatley $5.70 per yard in U.S. Dollars.

We Often get asked the question... How do I know how to pay if it is asking for a Canadian Dollar amount? The answer to that is simple. You simply go about paying with your credit card in the same manner as any U.S. Website. What happens is the credit card company who you deal with takes the Canadian Dollar amount and converts it for you and charges you the lesser amount in U.S. Dollars.
